So we have had nearly 4 full weeks of temperatures over 80 degrees and many days well into the 90s with what feels like 100% humidity, it is truly hard to think of hand knit garments and accessories. However, this is such a wonderful time for me. I am able to experiment with new yarns such as my recent purchase from StevenBe

I just truly feel in love with these hand dyed wools from Honey Girl Farms, Mad Tosh and Woolen Boon. These wools are beyond soft, vibrant in color and such a glorious joy to knit with. One of the most intriguing attributes of these wools is watching the color pops appear on my needles...I have been getting some serious knitting in and the One of a Kinds shawls that I've created for this upcoming Fall/Winter season are beyond words--Fabulous, Soft and certainly statement pieces.

I was fortunate in May to attend a virtual class taught by the designer StevenBe through the Vogue Knitting Live On Line Event. Due to many circumstances, I have never been able to attend a Vogue Knitting Event previously but due to our current quarantines, I was able. Steven Be's class was on shawls and scarfs. He was truly such a delight and inspiration! He urged us to never tear out your project, just keep going, let the yarn speak to you and embrace how the project unfolds. He also told us to not ever be afraid of color! His enthusiasm for knitting and design is so contagious. If I ever get to Minneapolis, I certainly want to stop by his shop and knit for a while.
